Gregory Crewdson

    

I was advised to look at this photography because he has a very strong narrative in his photo's, he re-creates scenes in America of average people in different situations and scenarios, in each one there is a clear narrative and you can instantly get an idea of what kind of emotion Crewdson is trying to evoke from the viewer which he manages to do successfully. I like his choices of colour and lighting because it makes the image look real rather than over the top and unrealistic, which then draws the viewer in further because they want to get a better understanding of what the individual's lives and stories are. They also make you feel like you are looking in on a scene through a window almost as though you aren't meant to be there seeing what is going on at the time.
